A night of infamy in Wollongong!
CW: Sexual Abuse, Violence
The terror of MILAT's first trip to the Steel City captured live.
May Day 2020, amid the fear and uncertainty of the COVID first wave, with bands threatening each other with violence following social media arguments and performers wanting to pull out, MILAT descend on the Servo in Port Kembla, masked and barely clothed, beating metal jerry cans with hammers and steel poles across a backdrop of Harsh Noise/Power Electronics.
Horror in the Gong tells the story of the brutal murders of Frank Arkell and David O'Hearn and the sexual abuse of young men in the city which they uncovered. The story of killer Mark Valera and his sister Belinda Van Krevel who, only weeks later, encouraged her then boyfriend to kill her and Mark's father Jack Van Krevel.
Harsh noise laden with samples and screamed vocals - gritty, bleak, aggressive.
